We are really chuffed to announce that we are now supporting local athlete, Sally Brown, as she attempts to qualify for the London 2012 Paralympic Games.

Ballykelly-born Sally Brown trains locally at Springwell Running Club in Coleraine. Sally has been running since the age of 9, and at just 16 has already won a bronze medal on her Senior debut in the 200m at the IPC World Championships in New Zealand in January 2010. In March of the same year, she travelled to Dubai to compete in the IWAS World Junior Championships and won gold in the 200m and silver in the 100m.

Locally, Sally has been winning medals in able-bodied athletics; she reached the Ulster Schools finals of the 300m and won silver, and subsequently was selected to represent Ulster at the All-Ireland Championships. She has also been selected for the Northern Ireland schools team to compete in the 200m and the 4x300m relay. ‘This is just so great,’ said Sally. ‘I can't thank JKC and MINI enough. I spend a lot of time in the car with my parents driving to and from training sessions and driving to events ahead of London 2012, so having a brand new car is amazing. Suddenly, I'm the envy of all my friends!’

Everyone in Coleraine is very proud of Sally and will be over the moon should she qualify.
